Earth Mending: creating refugia
Refugia (reh-FU-jee-ah) is a biological term describing places of shelter where life endures in times of crisis, such as a volcanic eruption, fire, or stressed climate. Ideally, these refugia endure, expand, and connect so that new life emerges.
Garden of Restoration
To show our love for the earth, to heal the earth we have begun a project of mending the earth by renewing our landscape by planting native and pollinator friendly plants.
Our Programs
God created the earth and said every part from the stars to the plants are good. We are invited into relationship with the earth. At United we are working to provide a safe place where we can grow and learn in our love and care for the earth.
SING
1st Thursday at 7pm
Sometimes we are working so hard to make the world a better, fairer, more just place, that we need time to stop and breathe.
Sometimes the hard work of justice, needs the space to raise their voices in song, emphasizing joy, solidarity, and connection.
Sometimes we need to eat together, to share food to foster community.
Join us once a month to sing, breathe, and eat.
This fall we will begin planting in our back lot. We hope to put in an orchard of trees next to the green houses and start building a Chapel of Trees.
